The First Do Rights Grant

Our daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in December of 2021, at 9 months of age. This unexpected diagnosis has changed nearly every aspect of our lives and will continue to affect our lives forever, for better or worse. Our daughter has two older siblings. She has an incredible 11-year-old brother, who will put her needs in front of his own every chance he gets; and she has a 5-year-old sister, who is very smart and sassy, and always making sure that mom and dad are checking her blood sugar and feeding her the correct foods she needs.

Diabetes has been challenging to manage, to say the least, but it has pulled us closer as a family and our little girl is worth every late night, every expensive pharmacy bill, and so much more.

If we were granted a chance to receive these funds for her diabetes care and management, it would provide us a chance to purchase her medication and supplies in a timely manner and ensure that she would not miss any medication doses or blood sugar checks. These funds will also guarantee that when she turns 2 in April, she will be able to start her insulin pump promptly, and we can focus on learning how to best utilize the technology to help her, instead of worrying how we will pay for it.

You can be assured that we will use these funds to make a positive change in our lives because there is nothing more important to us than the health and safety of our children. If we are granted these funds, we will not only be able to ensure and improve our handling of her diabetic care and management, but we will also be able to spend less extra time working and more time enjoying our family.

These medications and medical devices mean the world to us because they keep our baby girl healthy and well, and we will find a way to pay for them no matter what it takes; but it would fill us with gratitude and joy to have your help insuring that we will not need to worry so much about the financial aspect of diabetes care and management, and move our efforts towards conquering it.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and we look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Thank you!
